Our Community & Economic Development staff is made up of statewide project managers that are responsible for facilitating the location, expansion, or start-up of businesses wishing to invest in Georgia. Projects are supported at the local level by regional project managers and engineers.
Our statewide project managers assist companies in identifying potential buildings or sites throughout the state. They provide total project management, utilizing Georgia Power's vast array of services including engineering, market research, demographics, and custom mappings. The statewide project managers also serve as liaison with state agencies and the local communities.
Doug's career at Georgia Power started in 1984 in the marketing organization. After working as an account manager for customers such as Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Delta Air Lines and large office facilities and hotels, he came to the economic development team in 2011. Doug specializes in projects in aerospace, automotive, chemicals, energy services and advanced manufacturing.
As the newest member of the Statewide Project Support team, Walt came to Georgia Power in 2015, having previously served as Director of Advanced Manufacturing for the Georgia Department of Economic Development. He was also responsible for the Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) program while working at the state agency.
MaryBeth began her career with Georgia Power in 2008 as an intern in Tactical Marketing before moving to Community & Economic Development the following year as a research intern. After completing her undergraduate degree in International Relations, she was hired as a full-time employee with the research group in 2010. She joined the Statewide Project Support team in 2014.
With a background in staffing and recruitment for Southern Company Services, Kevin joined Georgia Power's economic development statewide projects team in 2002. He specializes in aerospace, security, bio science, logistics, fabricated metals, plastics and data centers, as well as helping international companies set up a presence in Georgia.
Brenda began her career with Southern Company, parent company of Georgia Power, in 1982. Joining Georgia Power's statewide projects team in 1996, Brenda brought a strong background in information systems and software, establishing data centers and talent recruitment. She has extensive expertise and experience with headquarters locations, FIRE, bio science, data centers, back office operations and new media.
With a degree in chemistry, as well as an MBA, Charles worked as a lab technician in one of the company's power plants and in Georgia Power's environmental affairs organization before joining the statewide projects team in 2002. Charles specializes in projects in automotive, chemicals, food processing, plastics and energy services.
Our Regional Managers support local communities through leadership development, strategic planning, existing industry retention and expansion, and with new companies considering an expansion or relocation to the area.
Odessa Archibald, EDFP, Metro South & Metro West Regions
Odessa began her career at Georgia Power in 2003, after holding positions at the national, state and regional levels. A graduate of the Regional Leadership Institute and Leadership Georgia, she currently serves on the boards of the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute and United Way of Greater Atlanta's South Fulton Advisory Board.
Elyse Cochran-Davis, CCE, Northwest Region
With 27 years of experience in community and economic development, Elyse joined the Georgia Power team in 2014. She has served in leadership positions with development authorities in Georgia and North Carolina and operated her own consulting firm, helping communities with strategic planning. Elyse serves on the board of the Georgia Economic Developers Association and is a member of the Southern Economic Development Council, the International Economic Development Council and is a founding partner of the American Chamber Executives Association's Economic Development Council.
Jason Coley, Coastal Region
Jason's career at Georgia Power began in 1994. His background includes marketing, customer service, engineering and local management. Jason joined the C&ED team in 2015. He is a member of the Georgia Economic Developers Association.
Matt Forshee, East Region
Matt joined the Georgia Power team in 2014, after serving as President & CEO of the Fayette County Development Authority in the metro Atlanta area. Prior to the Fayette County position, Matt led the Athens Economic Development Foundation in Clarke County, Georgia. He is a member of the Southeastern Economic Development Council and the International Economic Development Council, as well as the American Planning Association, the Georgia Planning Association, the Industrial Asset Management Council and the Urban Land Institute.
Lauren Salas Lambiase, Metro East & Metro North Regions
Lauren began her career with Georgia Power in 2015, after working with the Georgia Dept. of Economic Development (GDEcD) as a senior project manager, where she helped bring more than 3,500 jobs to the state. Prior to working for GDEcD, Lauren served as the senior business development manager for the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, as well as the director of public affairs and development for the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Jim Lovett, EDFP, Central Region
Jim began his career with Georgia Power in 1982. He has worked in many areas of the company, including region operations, finance, corporate services, and legislative affairs. Jim is a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional and serves on the board of the Georgia Agribusiness Council. Watch video.
Scott Purvis, South Region
Scott joined the Georgia Power team in 2011, after 13 years with the Georgia Dept. of Community Affairs. Prior to working with the state, Scott was a management consultant with the Southwest Georgia Regional Development Center (RDC); a circuit rider/city and county administrator for the city of Colquitt and Miller County; and city manager for Hahira, Georgia.
Rope Roberts, Northeast Region
Rope's career at Georgia Power began in 1979. He has a background in accounting, procurement and corporate communication. Rope serves on North Georgia College and State University's Business Advisory Council and is an instructor in the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, which provides economic development and leadership training for regional leaders. Clint Taylor, West Region
Clint began his career with Georgia Power in 1976. He has worked in many areas of the company, including region operations, customer service, marketing, and local management. With a degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA in finance, Lisa's career at Georgia Power began in 1982 in the Marketing organization. Prior to joining the Community & Economic Development team in 2014, she served as Area Sales Executive and Team Lead in the company's Metro North region of Atlanta.
Anne Kaiser, VP, Community & Economic Development
As vice president of community and economic development for Georgia Power, Anne is responsible for the company's efforts to recruit new industry to Georgia, as well as supporting local and statewide initiatives to improve the marketability of communities in the state.
Johnna Robinson, Community Development Manager
As manager of the Community Development team, Johnna is responsible for leading the department's efforts in preparing Georgia's communities for growth, generating leads at the local level to recruit new companies and assisting with existing industry expansion and retention. She also manages the company's community relations and urban affairs initiatives.
Jonathan Sangster, General Manager, Economic Development
As general manager of economic development, Jonathan is responsible for new business recruitment statewide. His team handles statewide project management, business development and marketing communications.
Jennifer Zeller, Support Services Manager
As Support Services Manager, Jennifer is responsible for leading the department's engineering, research and Georgia Resource Center teams to support business recruitment, expansion and retention initiatives, as well as helping communities prepare for growth.
