Atlanta Center for Medical Research
The Atlanta Center for Medical Research (ACMR) recently announced plans to expand, moving from its current location in Midtown to a newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility on Fairburn Road in Atlanta, creating 300 additional jobs.
Formerly Southwest Atlanta Hospital, the building has been renovated specifically for the needs of ACMR. The facility has 150,000 square feet of space designed for research studies, capacity for 300 inpatient beds in 15 separate unit spaces and the latest medical research equipment. With more than 30 years of experience, ACMR will continue to conduct both outpatient and inpatient clinical trials in Phase I, first-in-humans, through Phase IV of industry-sponsored pharmaceutical trials at the Center.
The Center will be open-sourced, allowing other leaders in the field to conduct research on site.
"This research center is a game changer and the first of its kind. The concept is novel and will help assure faster, more accurate data to get good medications and devices to the market sooner," says Eric J. Riesenberg, Director of Operations at ACMR.
Since 1980, the Atlanta Center for Medical Research has been a national leader in conducting research studies to help bring new, safe medications to patients. ACMR exists to ensure that the public has access to quality medicine for a wide range of mental health and medical conditions.
