Advanced Manufacturing - Luxury Vinyl Tile
On October 3, Mannington Mills announced plans to expand its operations in Georgia, adding a production line at its plant in Madison to produce luxury vinyl tile, the company's fastest growing product. Mannington is moving production of luxury vinyl tile from China to the U.S. to more effectively meet customer demand. The size of the Madison facility will be doubled during the expansion, representing a quadrupling of capacity since March 2012. Construction will begin later in 2013 and the expansion should be fully operational by January 2015.
"Mannington's decision to grow its business here in Georgia is a direct reflection of the high quality of our workforce and the ease of access we provide to its global markets," said Georgia Governor Nathan Deal. "These are the most critical components of the portfolio we are building in support of our goal of making Georgia the No. 1 state for business."
Headquartered in Salem, New Jersey, Mannington Mills Inc. manufactures and markets commercial and residential sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl, laminate, hardwood and porcelain tile floors, as well as commercial carpet and rubber. Founded in 1915 by John B. Campbell, Mannington is still privately held. In addition to the Morgan County facility, Mannington also has locations in Calhoun and Conyers, Ga., as well as in North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, California, New Jersey and the United Kingdom.
