Brooke Perez is the Regional Economic Development Manager for the Metro North region. Brooke started with Georgia Power in 2016 as an education project manager with the Education and Workforce Development team. She was promoted to Workforce Development manager where she led a team focused on two initiatives: improving education and workforce outcomes for Georgia and preparing a pipeline for the energy industry. Brooke has been with Southern Company since 2009, when she joined the technology team and contributed to one of the largest tech projects in the company's history. She later joined the support organization where she managed customer experience for multiple, multi-million dollar technology and process improvement projects.
Brooke's deep passion for advocating and supporting our state’s workforce efforts continues to drive her in her new role where she supports the success of her communities through leadership development, strategic planning, job creation strategy, and assisting companies with expansion efforts. Her support extends to prospective new businesses to the area as well as existing companies who are ready to expand.
Brooke is a graduate of The University of Georgia with degrees in marketing and advertising and a minor in Spanish.
In addition to her professional experience, Brooke is an active member of the community. She is a graduate of Leadership Sandy Springs and serves on the council for UGA’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication Alumni Board. She also serves on the boards of Georgia’s FIRST Robotics and Georgia Leadership institute for School Improvement (GLISI). She chaired our state’s energy workforce consortia, the Georgia Energy and Industrial Construction Consortia (GEICC). Brooke is a graduate of the Georgia Academy of Economic Development, Region 3 Class of 2015. Brooke was also selected for the Atlanta Regional Commission's Leadership Institute Class (RLI) in 2024.
A Georgia native, Brooke lives in Sandy Springs with her husband, David, and their four children. She enjoys running, drinking coffee, and listening to podcasts.
