"I wanted to work with the C&ED team for the opportunity to tell stories with data. Helping others visualize how numbers and research impact their community is an exciting part of what our team does.”
Shani Johnson is the most recent addition to the Community and Economic Development's research team. Shani most recently served as a Renewable Development Analyst in Distributed Generation. In this role she managed the financial processes for the team, was responsible for the analysis and reporting of programs, and created and managed the process flow for their project management tool.
She has also worked as a Marketing Analyst in Residential Sales and as both a Support Representative and Analyst in Energy Efficiency. Prior to joining Georgia Power, Shani worked as a Marketing Coordinator for EMCVenues and as a Recruiter for Knight Transportation.
Shani earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Spelman College and a Master of Business Administration from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
A big fan of living in the Metro area, Shani explains, "there is so much to explore. Living right outside the city gives my family the benefits of knowing their neighbors, and living in a peaceful neighborhood, but we're only a short drive to nightlife and a lot of entertainment options."
