Coffee with Nicole Pearson

What part of town do you live in?

I’m OTP in Marietta. Love it there, especially this time of year. The Marietta Square is our favorite place for ice cream on warm evenings.

What’s your current role at Georgia Power?

I’m lucky enough to be part of the creative marketing team. As the Marketing Manager, I get to help tell the stories of Georgia’s communities and the amazing people that make our state so great. I also experiment with new technologies so we're always telling those stories in the best possible ways. One of my favorites is our virtual reality app - GA Experience.

Describe community and economic development in Georgia in two words:

Opportunity. Prosperity.

Favorite place in Georgia to get away to?

There are 159 counties in our state and I always find something unique and wonderful in every single one that I visit. The area I return to over and over is the coast, but I can't choose just one favorite.

What about outside Georgia?

I’ll travel just about anywhere, so that’s tough. In the U.S., San Francisco is at the top of my list. Outside of the U.S., Paris will always be my favorite.

What was your very first job?

I answered the phones and worked the cash register at my mother’s hair salon. I learned a lot about people and also about hair. Both have been useful!

What do you love about Georgia?

I came here 20 years ago and made Georgia my home. I didn't intend to stay for so long, but it’s tough to beat the incredible creative community we have here, as well as the great vibe and interesting people.

What are you watching right now?

Don’t get me started on Game of Thrones. Now that it’s over, I’m watching Dead to Me on Netflix.

Go-to karaoke song?

Pretty much any old-school Beastie Boys. I will also jump in and join any duet or group song - even if I don't know it. I hate to miss out on the fun!
