Georgia's 1st Quarter 2022 Growth

Check out our first quarter announcements and expansions!

"Atlanta emerged as the perfect choice for our new Tech Hub because of its strong educational infrastructure and institutions committed to supporting communities of color.”

Dave Stephenson, Chief Financial Officer at Airbnb

Together with our state and local partners, our Community and Economic Development team helped create and retain over 7,000 jobs in Georgia in the first quarter of the year, as well as $2.9 billion in capital investment. The non-manufacturing sectors accounted for 82% of job creation led by the administrative and support service industry (Carvana location). Warehousing and distribution came in second due to Ryder System’s distribution center in Locust Grove. The majority of manufacturing announcements were in the chemical, fabricated metal, and transportation equipment sectors.
