Q1 2025 - A strong pipeline amidst evolving policies
Despite the economic uncertainty causing a slow start, the outlook remains positive. The Georgia Power Economic Development team supported the state with 16 companies locating or expanding their operations in Georgia, resulting in *2,300+ new jobs and $670+ million in capital investment.
Manufacturing continues to thrive, accounting for nearly 50% of new job creation, particularly in the aerospace and food products sectors. Professional services emerged as the leading job creator in the first quarter, indicating a resurgence of large office projects that began late last year.
Our active project pipeline is at a peak number for companies considering Georgia, showcasing the continued interest and confidence in the state as a consistent partner for business. As companies adapt to new federal economic policies, we anticipate an acceleration in investment decisions, driving future growth and prosperity.
