Communities perfect their pitches at PM 201

Georgia's communities have a lot to offer businesses looking for a place to grow. So much, in fact, that it can be a challenge to fit all of that greatness into one presentation. Recently, our Community Development team hosted local economic development professionals from some of Georgia’s communities to learn how to perfect their community pitches. During the one-day Project Management 201 (PM 201) session, the participants experienced a customized coaching session that focused on building and delivering compelling community presentations – helping them to attract jobs and capital investment.

This is the best training that I have been a part of related to my job, and maybe personally too. The skills that I learned will go with me wherever I go, whether it be at another job or a volunteer role. Thank you for investing in me, knowing that my community will benefit from that. I believe that it will pay dividends for us all.

PM 201 is part of a two-session educational series that also includes Project Management 101 (PM 101). Over the course of these sessions, our Community Development team shares their expertise and guidance with statewide and local economic developers. The first in the series, PM 101, educates newly placed economic developers on topics ranging from “completing an RFI” to “preparing for a prospect visit” — and much more! Since its inception in 2011, more than 100 counties and almost 250 economic developers have participated in PM 101 and PM 201.
