Fieldale Farms
The impact of Fieldale Farms Corporation goes far beyond their facility. Since 1972, the family-owned business has been a pioneer in the poultry industry – leading the way for producing the best possible chicken with the health of their chickens, consumers, and employees considered in every part of the business.
Founded in Northeast Georgia, a first-time visitor could be surprised at the scale of their Cornelia campus. What started as a small agriculture-based business has grown to one of the largest employers in that region, while staying owned by the family.
Fieldale's large complex includes their headquarters, food processing facilities, hatcheries, feed mills, truck shops, USDA lab and medical offices. Many Fieldale employees spend their entire career there, sharing a commitment to quality and family.

“You really can’t have a conversation about the Northeast region or Georgia’s poultry’s industry without including Fieldale Farms. Not only are their products exceptional, but they are an important partner for many community initiatives,” shared Andrew Carnes, Georgia Power’s Northeast Regional Manager.
Milestones in Georgia's Poultry Industry
Fieldale’s focus on quality can be marked in major milestones along their business journey. In 1997, Fieldale began forging a path towards raising chickens without antibiotics, one flock at a time.

To do this, Fieldale farmers needed more automation and sound animal husbandry practices. Now, Fieldale growers are better educated, better equipped, and have mastered the art of the environmentally controlled house. This was the creation of Fieldale’s brand, Springer Mountain Farms.
For over 25 years, Springer Mountain Farms has continued to perfect Fieldale’s commitment to producing the best-tasting chicken on the market. Building on their dedication to antibiotic-free practices, Springer Mountain Farms chickens are American Humane Certified™, never fed animal by-products, never treated with hormones, and are exclusively fed American-grown corn and soybeans. Springer Mountain Farms chickens are always naturally and minimally processed, delivering the Simply Superior Chicken consumers know and love!
Fieldale Farms were recognized last year by the Georgia Historical Society as part of the Business History Initiative. Honoring their role in shaping one of Georgia’s top industries, their success was commemorated with a historical marker.
“Receiving a historical marker is like holding a piece of time, a tangible reminder that our stories matter, and our past shapes our future,” said Fieldale Farms President Tom Hensley. “This is a great honor to our founding families and the exceptional community we are proud to call home.”
Employee and Community Focused
For the family and long-term employees, it's about more than providing a high-quality product; it’s about contributing to a strong future for their communities. In the Conelia offices, it’s hard to find a blank space on the walls. In every room and hallway are framed articles, photos, or plaques, recognizing the contributions that are a part of the Fieldale culture. Whether it's the United Way, local Scout chapters or supporting music and the arts, the founding families believes that it's their responsibility to help the communities that their employees call home.

Of course, being able to give back is only possible by continuing to provide some of the highest quality chicken and products. Across their three primary locations, the company processes an impressive number of birds- ranking 12th largest in the nation.
With a foundation roosted in community and owners who have led new industry standards, it’s easy to see why Fieldale Farm’s is a leader in poultry and food production in Georgia and beyond.
Explore the Northeast Opportunities
The Northeast Region, home to Fieldale Farms, is a hub for global manufacturing and innovation. More opportunities are coming soon to the region as The Georgia Ports Authority plans a 104-acre Inland Port with direct access to Port of Savannah through Norfolk Southern.
