Reaching the milestone of 25 Consecutive Years as a Top Utility was a great time to pause and reflect on the economic development industry and how our team has reached this milestone.
Talent & Partnerships: GPC’s commitment to hiring top talent from diverse backgrounds allows us to serve all our customers, strengthen partnerships, and forge new collaborations for a stronger more resilient Georgia.
Information: While active prospects may be kept a secret, we are generous sharing information to support a growing Georgia. Our research team of experts makes available a wide range of information to help businesses and communities make informed decisions about their growth. Annually, we publish industry reports that are widely used by statewide partners. Last year they also created self-service data tools to help supply information on-demand.
Innovation: Every year the priorities for Site Selection change, and so do we. Over the past 25 years we have moved from hand-sketched technical drawings to 3D renderings, 360” videos, aerial videography (drones) to help businesses see what is possible on a site. In the last five years alone, our strategic solutions team has responded to almost 14,000 requests supporting approx. 1,200 projects!
Communication: Competing globally makes it critical to begin forming an emotional connection with decision makers before they ever step foot on Georgia soil. Leveraging the latest in digital storytelling, our award-winning marketing team reaches people across the globe with critical information and success stories that help them feel what makes Georgia a top state for business and talent.
All of Georgia: Our office is in the heart of Atlanta, but our services reach across Georgia. We have developed new tools and programs for rural communities to support entrepreneurship, retail strategies, and help them compete for larger projects (see rural announcements). After small businesses struggled during the pandemic, we responded by launching GrowGeorgia.com, to help diverse founders connect with business education, networking, funding, and supplier programs across the state.
Futurists: The knowledge and data we use to support our customers and consult with partners, we also apply to the way we do business. Whether we are responding to emerging real estate trends, virtual reality learning experiences, or augmenting our work with modern technologies like automation or AI (artificial intelligence), C&ED (Community & Economic Development) are enthusiastic about the future of work and how it affects economic development and the industries we serve.
