"There are so many incredible women I credit with supporting me throughout my career, for believing in me, and encouraging me to do the same. The chance to compile some of those voices is an honor. Their actions give me confidence that with this wisdom being passed down the chain of strong female voices will continue to form a more inclusive future for all."
Women aren’t just a part of history; they are making history in Georgia. This is especially true when it comes to generating economic prosperity. Not only are they contributing to our leading major employers, but they are starting their own businesses, and advocating for the next generation of leaders.

“Diverse talent, experience, and backgrounds need to be brought to the table when planning for the cities and towns of tomorrow. As a woman in economic development, I feel a responsibility to make sure that our voices are not only heard but amplified in those conversations. Collectively, our ideas will make Georgia an even better place to live, work, and learn.”

This March was no different as our team participated at events celebrating Women’s History Month. From the annual VIA Connects Conference, Board meetings for Girls on the Run, to celebrating the graduates of the first cohort for South Georgia Women’s Leadership Initiatives – we had the opportunity to connect and learn from women-owned businesses, educators, and leaders throughout Georgia.
After a month of gatherings, we had to ask our team, “What does it mean to advocate for women in Georgia?”
